The 1953 color Bowman #33, a horizontal action shot of Dodger Hall-of-Famer Pee Wee Reese, is "the holy grail of all mid-air cards," according to an email we received telling us about this ethereal post-war image. Mr. Reese led the league in stolen bases with 30 in 1952; and at this midair moment, he'd been with the Dodgers for twelve years. You can see the back here.
This is one we'd like to own, but not through buying it at an auction. Rather, we'd like to find a dog-eared #33 in a shoebox that had been tucked away in the attic by an uncle, trailing clouds of glory from his childhood. That would be magic fitting this wonderful card. Thank you, Peter K.
