Have you read Satchel Paige: Striking Out Jim Crow? It's been nominated for an Eisner award, the Oscar of the comics world, sorta, thus it reeks of nobility. I just want a 1953 Topps Satchel Paige baseball card, even if it's in terrible condition. See it up there? You need beautiful artwork, take a gander at that. Anyhow, here is a review that frets about the comic book's artwork; here's an interview with James Sturm. And in a related development. Speaking of striking out, this Action Comics #389 cover stretched credibility quite a bit back when a dorky kid struck out the Man of Steel. I realize it's comics and fiction and everything, but please. Excuse me while I call Sears to come fix the garage door opener at the Fortress of Solitude.

Great idea for a blog! That Superman comic is classic.
I would have thought that the cape would have gotten in the way of his swing. You know, I can actually remember when Superman comic books were 15 cents. I probably read that issue when it was new. On of the biggest disappointments in my youg life was when comic books were increased to a quarter.
