When we stop at Big-Box-with-a-T for something, it's prime time to grab a Fairfield repack. On the occasions we have done so, we have good luck. This is the first time we've seen this unsearchable sealed envelope. (By the way, Nachos Grande has a funny and informative reflection about relic cards and the good old days.) No, we didn't pull a Daisuke autograph or a Derek Jeter striped jersey. However, in our world, we pulled something to appreciate.Given today's compelling post by Cardboard Junkie on, well, why people collect, this was especially timely. In addition to Lucy's smiles and Asian players, we collect cards of David Wright, Jamie Moyer, Barry Zito, Curtis Granderson and Micah Owings. So, we said "Oh!" when we pulled this out of the envelope:

"It's like a gold medal," said Lucy. We have several of JM's cards, and a few autographs, but no game used.
And the language is unequivocal...we wonder why it doesn't say "Game Worn" instead of "Game Used," or is it all the same, lawyer-wise? Yes, we know that in regard to relics, we are NAIVE BUMBLEPUPPIES.We like Jamie because:
- he is kind of ancient to still be playing;
- his pitches are mystifyingly slow;
- and when he speaks about baseball, he becomes truly eloquent.

Coolness... gotta love pulling a player you collect out of a repack!
The last Fairfield repack I bought had that exact same Moyer card.
dayf, it did have coolness. Thanks for always being so positive.
Cliff, You got a double Piazza once, too. Clearly, we are fatefully linked by the card gods.
I'm a real big Moyer fan as well. All I have been pulling out of those envelopes are Garciaparra game used. I did get a lincecum topps chrome rookie card in the last throw in pack.
Bumblepuppies? I'm guessing you've read "Brave New World" before, because that's the only place I've seen that word used. I kinda like it.
