Zito, Micah, and the arrival of spring.

For no good reason, The Easy Life sent us the above Z card and the Micah Owings auto below. Thank you, Steve, very very much. There are so many reasons to love the Zito patch that, rather than regale you with those reasons, although do you mind if we mention the retro font and starburst?, what we are going to do is get a glass of water and sit down, because this card is making us kind of woozy.

Since Barry is a Giant (although you have to love him depicted as an A back when he could pitch), here is Bruce Bochy's projected SF Giants pitching rotation, in order: Tim Lincecum, Randy Johnson, Matt Cain, Zito, and Sanchez or Noah Lowry. That's our understanding; if we are incorrect, we hope Bailey will let us know. When we visit the Giants in spring training in Scottsdale this March--yes, we'll be a little more ready to be baked alive in the sun this time--we wonder who might be pitching. It is too much to hope for the Zeet.

As for Mr. Owings, now with the Cincinnati Reds, the pitching rotation there looks like it will be Aaron Harang, Edinson Volquez, Bronson Arroyo, Johnny Cueto, Micah, and Homer Bailey as alternate. Fantasy News says the potential bust is Volquez, mostly because of his walk rate. We say: watch Micah. Remember, we told you first.

You are correct! I am very excited. It should be the best pitching rotation in the league (maybe topped only by the Yankees). Please let me know about Spring Training! Use your womanly charm to get Timmy's auto!

You really make me want to like Barry. You really do. But it's just that he's wearing that black and that orange and, bleh!

I did like him when he was on the A's. I'll focus on that.

Night, due to extenuating circumstances (the whole entire Giants/Dodgers history) we will accept your minimalistically liking Barry as an A.
